Karen Frank

Medical writer by day and screenwriter by night, Karen Frank has been writing screenplays for nearly twenty years.  After studying screenwriting at MCTC, Karen had a stack of scripts sitting in a drawer and eventually dusted them off and entered them in contests.  A former McKnight Screenwriting Fellow, her screenplays have reached the semi-finals and finals in various contests, including the Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition, the Bluecat Screenplay Competition, and WeScreenplay Diverse Voices Competition.  Her short script, “Buried” recently won the 2017 Shore Screenplay Short Script Competition. As part of the Screenwriter’s Workshop, Karen facilitates the Second Tuesday Reading Series and is chair of the Education Committee.
